"Is it intentionally ironic that you have answered my posts criticising evidence analysis and unfounded statements by saying "As a POLITICAL crisis, it is OVER.  We are NOT facing imminent global humanitiarian disaster from greenhouse gas emissions."?

Typing in capitals doesn't make it more correct."

True.  Its accuracy is borne out by the fact that there has been an unpredicted ten-year hiatus in global warming.
However I write has nothing to do with that fact.

The political crisis of global warming was the prospect of unchecked global temperature increases that flooded coastlines, rendered cropland to desert, forced the migration of dozens of millions, and created a humanitarian crisis in every nation simultaneously by 2040.   This crisis has evaporated, with the demonstrated hiatus in global temperatures.  It is undisputable fact that the AGW crowd cannot estimate with any reliability, the world climate for the remainder of the century, or the humanitarian consequences.  There is therefore no urgency about their agenda for industrial limitation.

Go ahead and declare victory on the AGW debate on the grounds of violations of Oxford debate rules, as we engage Asia and Africa in the Third Industrial Revolution.

"It would be a lot better if you just posted a single, good quality source which actually supported the claims you make (or more accurately, it would be better if the claims you made were justified based on the good quality sources you had read)."

This would be impossible, as any single source supporting his claims would be contested on the grounds that it was a single source, the time frame was too short, the area in question was too specific, etc etc etc.

As I said:  I don't give a rats ass if the Earth returns to a ball of molten lava in 5051.  As a POLITICAL crisis, it is OVER.  We are NOT facing imminent global humanitiarian disaster from greenhouse gas emissions.  Kyoto dead.

The planet's temperature curve rose sharply for almost 30 years, as global temperatures increased by an average of 0.7 degrees Celsius (1.25 degrees Fahrenheit) from the 1970s to the late 1990s. "At present, however, the warming is taking a break," confirms meteorologist Mojib Latif of the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences in the northern German city of Kiel. Latif, one of Germany's best-known climatologists, says that the temperature curve has reached a plateau. "There can be no argument about that," he says. "We have to face that fact."

Even though the temperature standstill probably has no effect on the long-term warming trend, it does raise doubts about the predictive value of climate models, and it is also a political issue. For months, climate change skeptics have been gloating over the findings on their Internet forums. This has prompted many a climatologist to treat the temperature data in public with a sense of shame, thereby damaging their own credibility.

"It cannot be denied that this is one of the hottest issues in the scientific community," says Jochem Marotzke, director of the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg. "We don't really know why this stagnation is taking place at this point."

Just a few weeks ago, Britain's Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research added more fuel to the fire with its latest calculations of global average temperatures. According to the Hadley figures, the world grew warmer by 0.07 degrees Celsius from 1999 to 2008 and not by the 0.2 degrees Celsius assumed by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. And, say the British experts, when their figure is adjusted for two naturally occurring climate phenomena, El Ni

1.  The "scientific" theory of AGW is toast, because of the lack of GW.  The hypothesis of man-made climate change remains in limbo til somebody figures out a theory of energy transfer with ANY observational data behind it. "I believe in the Yeti--disprove it isn't out there somewhere"

2.  The POLITICAL crisis has already been exploded -- we are NOT headed for humanitarian crisis by 2035. So, take however long you like on the math.  I don't care and our economy doesn't need radical change to head it off.

To be a "denier" is to question whether heat energy is trapped within the earth's atmosphere by greenhouse gases, is then mysteriously transformed into other forms of energy within the climate system in a manner not yet observed or explained.   Cause that's what "global climate change" is in 2012.  A mysterious hypothesis without explanation.

That's fine Noir, trust the Batcomputer will explain how a unique surge in global temperatures clearly correlating to human pollution is now not correlating at all.   I recommend we call the energy transfer, "phlogiston" just as soon as the Batcomputer figures out wtf happens to all that trapped heat.  As you say, we have other planets to look at, and boy is all that trapped heat visible.  As heat.

"Lol poor flint is still denying enviromental science? Does he also deny other outragous theories like gravity and evolution??"

I deny the circular logic that said,

We know greenhouse gas emissions drive climate.

Because greenhouse gas emissions are up.

And temperatures are steadily rising in a unique and disturbing manner.

And there's a strong correlation between the increase in greenhouse gases and the unique and disturbing rise in temperatures.

And greenhouse gas emissions are rising because of human industry which is not a metereological factor caused by anything but human choices.

Therefore human pollution is raising global temperatures.

BUT now says:

Global temperatures have stopped rising.

Greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise.

There is no longer any correlation between greenhouse gas emissions and temperatures.

THEREFORE, since we proved greenhouse gas emissions drive climate, the heat energy of the entire freakin planet is being subverted into any other weather pattern, by a constant, unique, global, and unexplicable energy transfer.

"To support my point, CDC records show that Bush's abstinence only education caused a significant number of teen girls to exit the sex market, but it had a marginal effect on teen boys. Moreover, the number of teen girls who had more than 3 partners a year also increased. In other words, the increase in price due to sellers leaving the market had little affect on the quantity demanded, and this increased the demand for risky sex."

But when you consider risky investments as expendable, the need for any correction vanishes.

Government subsidies of a competitor is no part of the laissez-faire economy.  Once you have government subsidies of a competitor, the competition is skewed.  We need to get out of the WTO to freeze those firms out of the American market.  Not even their governments can rescue them from that.  In fact, we might even topple a few governments.

"I dream of a return of Senators being chosen by the States and not the people."

That's silly.  You do that and you have to get 1/2 of the state legislature in 1/2 of the states on your side for a period of 6 years to get 1/2 of the Senate.  Instead of just having 1/2 of the voters.  It puts the whole rest of your agenda out of your reach.

aw yes

Heat is trapped by carbon gases
?????
"climate change"

Nobody says climate doesn't vary fella, we were told quite clearly since 1990s that trapped heat was making earth WARMER.  In fact global temps have been flatline for 15 years.

No you don't get to use water vapor as an example, since "global warming" models don't pretend to measure the % of water vapor.

No we don't have to invent a whole new model of global climate to refute "global warming/ global changey".  It is enough to show that your models fail to explain the observed universe. Galileo didn't have Newton's theory to explain WHY moons orbited Jupiter, it was enough to show they didn't orbit the Earth...

In any event, SINCE we are NOT on a path to imminent destruction through increased global temperatures, full coal ahead with industrialization! You science types can figure out the science, we no longer have a POLITICAL crisis.

Check the circular logic on this one -- we know climate change must be due to increased greenhouse gases, even though we totally predicted a different temperature result, because we know that increased greenhouse gases must be important to climate.  Therefore any climate you see must be due to increased greenhouse gases.

I wonder how you test whether increased greenhouse gases are significant to climate.  You know, science.
