USA is the only advanced industrialised country in the world without a universal health care system.

Its no surprise that the uninsured/underinsured are a drain on the emergency services, since they tend to avoid treatmnet at an early stage through fear of medical bills.

The USA system is also highly inefficient with over a thousand healthcare providers and an estimated 15-20% of costs going to administration.

The Uk NHS system includes free primary care for all, nobody needs to put off going to the docotors through fear of cost.

b/w youre missing the point.

In the Uk we do have a choice, we have private health care, health insurance same as you have.

But in addition we have a National health service that guarantees a good standard of health care to everyone regardless of ability to pay.

Of course the NHS has finite resources, and has to make choices. It cannot offer free boob jobs or facelifts to everyone, and some non life threating ailments have a waiting list, but nobody dies because they cant afford emergency care.

The NHS is not something thats imposed on us by government, its there because the British pepole strongly beleive that health care should be available to all regardless of ability to pay.

Any government that tried to get rid of it would soon find themselves out of office.

Yes we pay for it through our taxes, but most of us are happy to pay for it even if we dont use it/need it.

No, people who are 90+ and want a liver transplant can still get it privately.

But under the NHS system a 5 year old from a poor family would get priority over a rich 90 yr old.

Whereas in your country the 5 year old would die unless his family had medical insurance or could somehow find a way to pay.

Capitalism refers to an economic and social system in which the means of production are predominantly privately owned and operated, and in which investments, distribution, income, production and pricing of goods and services are determined through the operation of a market economy.

USA, UK, France, Germany etc... = Capitalist

I would argue that domestication was the turning point in human history.

For 7 million years humans existed as hunter - gatherers with no real progress, until around 11,000 years ago domestication of first plants and then animals evolved.

less than 0.1% of biomass per acre privided edible calories for hunter gatherers, when humans learned to select and grow the few species of plant that we can eat, that changed to close to 90%.

As a result, one acre can feed many more herders and farmers than hunter gatherers.

That was the turning point allowing large societies to develop.

They changed the PW starting resources 5-6 rounds ago maybe more.
Before that bankers had enough iron and endu to FB their HP with starting resources and still have leftover iron endu.

Its only since they reduced starting iron & endu that market gets endu locked at BOR.

It used to be 5k iron and 500 endu at bOR I think

Go chavez big_smile
