@xeno:
"but in inglix, lukilE, cer R apArentlE OnlE 44:"
No, that is only the case if you really try to have 1 character for every sound even the sounds that are now combinations. It really is more difficult, especially cause we are not used to the system. Also it merely replaces one sound with another whereas in the other examples (getting rid of qxc) gets rid of excess letters for sounds we already have one for.

"wE hav 26 letrs in cE alfabet.  bI yUzing cu kapitolz az saOnds, wE naO get 52 letrs.  wE olsO hav 10 numbrz, wiq kin giv us a tOtal uv 62 yUsful kRaktrs tU yUz tU reprEzent fOnEmz."
Although it might be fun to play with letters, I don't understand why you do the opposite of what we tried to do now: You make it more complicated and more difficult to learn. By using capitals you add an -easy as it might be- extra character. You add more characters and rules to the game instead of simplifying it. Often I agree with your basic idea, but your solutions still require some extra work. I hope you don't take that as an insult cause it really isn't. You brainstorm about it and it is only logical that out of 10 new ideas 1 will be winner. At least you dare to think about it where most people don't and I respect that.

@einstein:
"ultimately our goal should be to reduce language to as few as possible, thus we become computers speaking"
ultimately our goal should be to bring more logic in your language. To reduce the alphabet and getting rid of 3 excess letters that share a sound with other letters does just that. To reduce the amount of letters isn't a goal in itself.

Getting rid of QXC is easy and is really all I ask for right now.
It is not a difficult rule. Its not radical. Its not difficult to read or write, in fact even people who know English by hart can learn to write it in 1 minute, 2 if they are slow. You can easily read it without extra effort. But speaking economically the gain would be tremendous.

After 4 days, you won't even notice it anymore as it is almost similar:
It is not a diffikult rule. It is not radikal. Its not diffikult to read or write, in fakt even people who know English by hart kan learn to write it in 1 minute, 2 if they are slow.

It all depends on your goals really:
*Simplify the alphabet
*Make it easier to learn to read and write for starters (eg kids)
*Make sure there is only one way to pronounce something without exceptions like in the Spanish language
*Make it easy to learn and comprehend for people who used the current alphabet

In that case using extra letters qxc isn't a good way.
If your goal is typing faster by using less letters it is. But an easy to type language develops automatically where people chat whereas what kids have to learn doesn't.

"but Cis yUzes mOr letrs"
but it saves on double consonants, simplifies writing and makes it easier to read.

Maybe you should focus on creating a chat language as that is clearly where you are heading. Sacrificing easiness for rapid typing but making it more complicated.

As I said, maybe we should push getting rid of QXC first (level one). Everybody will understand what you are typing and everybody will be able to read or write it without an effort. We could do it here in IC-forums and it will spread easy. I think you want too much at once.

"I have been inspired by the idea of how to use capital letters to solve the problem with there being too many vowel sounds.  Also, now that the letter 'c' has been freed, it is useful as the letter 'th', just as how now that the letter 'q' has been freed, it is useful as the letter 'ch' and now that the letter 'x' has been freed, it is useful as the letter 'sh'."

Although it will type faster, it would go against the logic of abandoning using one letter to create a double sound and also keep more letters into the system. It also makes your text unreadable for people unfamiliar with your system unless
they are willing to do an effort. Abandoning k,c and x makes it easier instead and so would be easier accepted by the public.

I do like the idea of getting rid of the vowels though, you make a good point there. But using capitals is not always possible, so maybe we should think about a better system. I think on that tomorrow.

One possibility would be using 2 vowels for a long sound: moor instead of more but morbid stays morbid. You can then abandon many duals like in posible. Again, I'll think about it tomorrow.

In any case those things won't be as easy and effective as getting rid of CQX. Maybe if someone pushes a new alphabet he should focus on that or resistance would be to high anyway.

I'm against ObamaCare. It was meant to do something for the poor, but instead it makes people poor. Even people in favor of public healthcare say ObamaCare is a failure.

Even better, lol.

Maybe we should make levels. We can never win the case for all of these rules at once. Einstein has a point there.
Level 1:
C:
using k when a single* C sounds like one
using s when a  single* C sounds like one
X:
using ks when a single* x sounds like one
using Z when a  single* X sounds like one
Q:
using k when a q sounds like one (so kuestion for now)

L2
In level 2 we include the ch, sh, qu etc

L3
In level 3 we replace more complicated things.

Level 1 is easily explained and makes the biggest difference. Its almost 2 to 4 hours less in school each year from the age they start to learn how to read and write! That alone is a huge economic advantage. It also saves on editors and spelling programs and makes it easier for non-natives to learn English. The list of pro's is endless.

@render
"Aks that list, it is eztreme, and no good on the ekspiration"
ekstreem you mean tongue

"I've been writing zhips, zhange, zheking, and its perfektly understandable, no need for "sj" at all"
there are pro and cons. Altough it would be simpler for kids with sj, z will type quicker. The biggest point in favor of sj is that you give z two different sounds whereas s stays the same hence simplifying the alphabet. So tough question there. But I can live with that. Its a huge step forward.

@einstein:
"Axe that list, it is extreme, and no good on the expiration"
A kid can learn how to spell by just learning the letters of the alphabet (with 3 less letters to learn as a bonus). For us it seems complicated but for someone who starts from zero its much easier. The economic advantage is huge, even if the kids used the extra time for play.

Almost. Here is a complete list.
using k for hard C sound like in complicated->komplikated
using s for ch, sh and other c sound like in civilization->sivilization or combined with k like in school-> skool
using sj for ch like in chips -> sjips
using Z instead of X
using ks instead of x like my ex-wife->eks-wife
using k instead of Q faqir->fakir quebec->kebek
using kw instead of qu question-> kwestion

We can use it the same way in dutsj btw. I will think about German, Frensj and Spanish tomorow.
and from now on we will be typing either an azerty or a werty keyboard.

14% agriculture
38% industry
47% services

in 2008 tourism was good for at least $11 billion directly. It could have been doubled by now in better circumstances. Indirectly it creates profit as well like eg in public relations. Over 12% works in tourism that makes more then 1 out of 10!

Next to that, it seems like you justify MB's behavior with wrongdoings from the military. President Morsi gave the military every opportunity to become violent by making undemocratic laws. It was all they need to commit violence.

If you have had a more democratic leader as head of the MB, who was more moderate, over 90% of the people would have been supporting him. The army wouldn't dare to do anything then.

Instead he frightened a large part of the population by making himself pharaoh. The huge protests against his behavior are not part of a military plot... many of them voted Morsi!

btw, the slaughter of Egypt's military is all over the news here.

"Thats what your media/source information told you."
20 years ago, so long before all this happened I learned about tourism being Egypt main source of income in school. It hasn't changed much now has it?

"why funding coup there? Why don't let them down because their own rules? Why?"
I was merely arguing about Egypt becoming stronger under MB. I did not defend the shootings.

I condemn both parties in fact for the same reason: being undemocratic.

The first related video is "27 alien species" lol. But on a more serious note, he isn't very cohesive. He states his opinion but gives few arguments to back it up:
"1. When the financial was more regulated, we had more prosperity".
"2. New deal worked".
"3. republicans worked against Obama and his stimulus was low, that is why he didn't succeed now".
"4. we have to spend to lower debt".

Those very weak arguments/points took him over 12 minutes. Should I watch the rest?

Zeno, good news. You can come back from exile. It is, however, possible we have to mummify you for the greater good, so they can worship your corpse in a shrine.

The decision will be democratically made by all grandmasters votes (being me) later.

They did vote MB but didn't intent to permanently remove the right to vote. Many people who voted for the MB didn't expect them to behave that way. Naive but true.

In any case, I sign you up to our holy church of zealots who want to simplify our alphabet. Although it has been Zeno's idea, he was then known as Xeno and cannot apply for leader of our church.

As usual when it comes to power, some crooked villain (being me) ruthlessly steals the position of absolute leadership and corrupts the whole thing. So I, grandmaster in the order of the simplified alphabet, have the right to appoint you as archbishop of our church. Because your legacy depends on my authority I have established the support of at least one member of this political forum, which is a huge crowd by its own standards.

Zeno has to go in lonely exile, preaching our gospel in a distant land, leaving all his belongings to our rightful cause.

You my may kiss my pinky ring and leave...
