except the US never attempted to be the supreme being of world control but attempted to stop communist expansion which it succeeded. the US was defensive and won the war, making the imposing enemy's economy collaspe because of the american resistance.

as for my view, i dont pretend to know enough about combat to know how the gender role makes a difference, and i dont think most people do. if you ask people with military experience, i think you need to take it for what it is and not treat is like a sexist remark.

witch hunts were done by people of many different religions, the catholic church never endorsed witch hunts.  as for pedophilia, blaming the church whenever a member is a pedophile is like blaming athiesm whenever an athiest is a pedophile. the catholic church clearly opposes pedophilia. and the church has done more to slow the spread of aids in africa then it has to hasten it. the catholic church has never been worse then its surroundings, and is compromised of men not saints; these men are subject to sin just like their neighbors.

because the catholic church isnt a cult, doesnt require its members to pay the church any money, is the oldest christian religion, supplies impoverished peoples with much aid, require its priests to be highly educated, has its priests take an oath of poverty.

while scientology was a get rich quick scheme made by a science fiction writer, members are forced to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to get farther into the religion, they hide any public info released about the religion with lawsuits, they lock members into cheap motel rooms where they are deprived of food and water until they die.....

i think scientology fits the Nasty Destructive Cults label a hell of alot better then catholicism.
