1.  Shotgun is preferred to pistol as self defense weapon, though some dorks argue it.  They are probably trying to sell you a 5.7mm FN pistol.

2.  An assault rifle is by definition a fully automatic, or burst automatic, rifle of medium weight and power.  Its military purpose is to throw suppressive fire onto enemy infantry, to make them duck and cover.    If they duck and cover they are not going to be shooting well, or charging and bayoneting your guys.  If they are ducked down holding still they are better targets for artillery which is the big killer in combat.  The fire of assault rifles may injure some of them, which is good because a kill takes 1 man out of the fight, while a casualty takes out 1 patient and 2 good samaritans.  In Aurora, 12 died and 58 got injured.  Assault rifles are about getting within 400 yards of the enemy, making him duck, then throwing explosives at him, until 13% of his force is injured and he has to retreat to regroup into a safe formation (where every man has people covering him without trying to look backwards)

3.  There are no assault rifles for sale in US except to less than 10,000 registered machine gun dealers.

4.  A steady shooter with a bolt-action deer rifle is a more lethal danger at 200m than a guy bumpfiring a semi-auto civilian "assault rifle".

5.  Back when "assault rifles" were banned and military style rifles required a 3 day waiting period, a Mauser Karabiner 98k could be bought instantly as it was an obsolete military weapon.  The Mauser was the standard issue rifle to German troops throughout WW2.

Tasers/spray are nonlethal and less risky than chokeholds.  Pretty hard to kill yourself or break your arm when a cop peppersprays you.

read from the 22nd page.   You guys have no right to bail; you can be held up to a year on a felony charge before trial.  In the US the suspect is to be granted bail unless the imminent risk of flight is so great that it's reasonable to doubt the perp will show up.  If it's waived, the suspect is guaranteed a speedy trial.

I dropped my laptop onto my USB modem which obligingly split open.

I get a free upgrade to a 4G modem that will be here in 2 days.

However with my awesome upgrade to the awesomeness of 4G I awesomely forfeit my 5GB/$50 plan for a 4G/$60 plan.

So I may not be around here as much until I see how well I can do limiting my surfing by 20%.
