"last i heard, censorship can happen before or after the publication, for if they arrest him after his first cartoon, that is "before" any subsequent cartoons he would have written."

not only is it censorship after the publication for the reason you listed, but also because the arrest sets a precedence that discourages other people from writing/drawing similar things. the minor 1 euro settlement is because they didnt have anything solid on him, but this is being used by the government to discourage others because even though what they writ3 isnt illegal, people like him can expect to be arrested in a large show of force with an excessive amount of officers and have your computer, sketches, CDs, DVDs and telephone siezed along with your home's privacy being invaded and being trashed and you to spend a night in jail.

you forgot all the people that died from hurricane katrina because of Bush's horrible response to the event.

and republican control of congress was killed because of him too.

democracy is an abomination and freedom is a illusion. maybe europeans are ahead of the curve on this.

I find it very strange that you think people should know about you on a generally accepted anonymous environment like the internet. You don't need to be a building inspector to say "I don't know" or simply leave the question to someone else.

the chances of someone here being qualified to accurately answer that question is very small. so small, it would make sense to first ask if anyone is a building inspector in a seismically active area in a first world country. because most people wont say "i dont know" they'll give you a bs answer pretending that they know.

Not many places where they would need to."

Okay. Could most western buildings in earthquake areas ie Los Angeles (California) withstand a 7.9 earthquake?

do we look like building inspectors?

do you know english? he was calling it a large earthquake, genius.

small earthquakes are smaller then small in an earthquake prone area, because the ground is already broken up from past earthquakes so the vibrations dont travel as well.

4000 families is a pretty pathetic minority. it has no sway in a democratic government with 300mil people.

there are americans that give a damn, but the working class of america is more concerned with providing for their families in this shit economy then the death of 4,000 people or what the world thinks of them.

it does have a good bit of pve too. the problem is its oriented to people who have no life. the main pvp is guild pvp with guild cities that require upkeep costs that keep its members busy. and then for pve they have the same 8 raids at 3 different difficulties which is not only boring, progressing through each raid three times, but also requires alot of commitment.... and Age of Conan is made by Funcom.... not BioWare.....

Warhammer Online should be pretty good when it comes out though. everyone should be able to participate in every part of the game. the pvp is going to be awesome because the creators of Warhammer are the creators of what is widely regarded as the best mmo pvp system, DAoC. and then theres supposed to be a ton of pve content, alot of quests and 6-man dungeons; designed so that people will enjoy the game that dont like pvp and none of it is time consuming raids.

Age of Conan's community is also full of abunch of kiddies that are excited about the titties that will be ingame.

the one problem is if global warming does exist, and theres gobal temperature variations in the future it can effect which land is farmable and would most likely drastically reduce the amount of food we're able to produce.

"Legislation that allows the government to practically do whatever they want to whomever they want whenever they want"

perhaps you didnt know, but governments can do whatever they want to their citizens, rights dont exist, they are just pretty little things that governments like us to pretend we have because it empowers them. why do soldiers die for their country? to protect the "rights" of its citizens?  whenever our "rights" are no longer convenient for the government, they will be ignored, look at WWII, despite all the "rights" provided by our constitution, Japanese Americans were treated like swine, captured, and put in camps with no trial.  at least the republicans are nice enough to let us know what rights are being ignored.

i hate chess, once you get to a point, you just start memorizing variations, its not fun.

i quit playing when NAPs were made official. galactic events were also pretty bad. the build limit on planets was pretty bad, the deterioration of resources other then food was pretty bad.

i like risk. you gotta manipulate enemies to go after each other while deceiving them into thinking you're weaker then you actually are.

republicans are best for the economy and we're going through a recession.... i doubt the working class really gives a damn whether a couple thousand people that volunteer to go into the Millitary die in some far off country, or if people in far off countries dont like the US, they want their job secured so they can provide for their family.

of the 3 candidates its hard to decide which one is most likely to be assasinated.... i think Obama is the least at risk. Conservatives really hate McCain because he pretends to be a conservative and damages their image, and they really Hate Hillary for a number of reasons, while Obama is like every other democrat other then he's black, and racism isnt that common...

correct.

> an African thats starving to death cant help himself and would need the charity of others to survive.

wrong. the reason it is starving to death is because it has been lazy and stupid. by choice.

anything that can happen will happen. if the person starved, he couldnt help himself. maybe the reason he couldnt was because he was lazy by choice, but he couldnt help himself.
