i so disagree with you, it isnt about -just- 1 (succesfull) movie, really, believe me
it isnt even about movies contributing to the stereotype, there are lots of other trends in society to be observed.

ofcourse its different i never commented on the actual "scene", i commented on the (majorly huge gigantic omnipresent ) pool of wannabe's.

it's like with salsa, like you said yrself, ppl joining in for different reasons. i believe it s subdued to trends and may even be the result of a (revived) hype.

sigh i feel the quality of "street dance"schools/classes what ev differ very very much..and that some kids only join in to be cool, or to live out their music television stereotype or becoz they were refused at ballet school, or some other place where they teach"real" "dances"
