>>How dare your democratically elected leader do what we was elected to do: lead.<<

He's ignoring the law and abusing his office. If that's leadership it is of the worst kind. There are reasons he does not lawfully have this power and it is only an indication of his lack of wisdom as well as his arrogance that he breaks the law with the support of Congress and much of the Amerikan people.

>>Also please note that GMs collapse in a capitalist market would simply allow another contender
to rise up in the ranks. Chances are that contender wont be american, and jobs (and money)
will be sent overseas.<<

I don't see why an Amerikan company such as Ford could not pick up more former GM customers than foreign manufacturers. Many bought GM because they wanted to buy Amerikan.

In any case, even if GM disappeared from the market (which a bankruptcy does NOT ensure) and we ignore Ford, that would leave Amerikan lawmakers and regulators with the option of making changes to allow Amerika to produce affordable cars (that is, affordable to produce and sell because nobody's going to buy your car if it's overpriced and you'll go out of business. you don't have to trust me on this one; it's recent history and it's not even over yet). Why would we WANT and ENCOURAGE companies that cannot produce a product and sell it for profit?

Yes the infrastrucuture is crucial for national defense, but the way to keep it is not by dumping tens of billions of dollars on it in the regular Democrat's solution model. There is much that can be done and, at the most, should not extend beyond major tax relief for these companies as they regain their profits. Bankruptcy laws already take care of renegociations with UAW--when there's no money to be had, you'd better make do with renegociation because the alternative is $0. The law is the way it is for a reason. It keeps Amerikan taxpayers for picking up the tab for BAD BUSINESS. It allows legal means to renegociate contracts in the case that is is impossible to fulfill requirements, which are often ridiculous in this case.

This is just another example of retards wanting a say in 100% of everything, so their vote controlling auto manufacturers is just a step in the right direction. They won't be happy until their government is as large as possible and given the closest to Godlike powers any instituion can have among men. Until then there will always be something to cry about. People will lose jobs and some work may go to China? Let's borrow money from China to keep those jobs in wasteful businesses here! Thanks to the omnipotent power of government we have "saved jobs" in order to keep wealth in the US... by borrowing the money to do so from China. The EXACT opposite of stated intent was achieved while morons are too stupid to see they've been had.

>>It's helpful to ignore the fact that Bush ignored financial problems and opportunities  <<

Many of the biggest blunders responsible for this mess can be traced to specific Democrats (They're the party in control of the legislative branch, though many Obama voters didn't know they gained power 2 years before Bush's term was up. Are you one of those fine and educated voters?) leading specific Congressional committees.

Other problems leading to the housing crash were fed in large part by Democrats before Bush even took office.

Keep ignoring the real problems and repeating soundbites. You won't do your countrymen any good, but you'll find enough idiots to agree with you to get along fine.

It's helpful to ignore the fact that Clinton ignored terrorists and opportunities to bring them to justice and Bush had to deal with this negligence. But if you want to make ignorant academic judgements of real world matters, you can certainly make your point!
