Thanks for clarifying that Render, makes more sense than any other potential reason behind it all. I'm not in either family but have an outsiders interest in terms of if there was any insecurity in the game. It helps confirm what my investigations revealed, that it had nothing to do with hacking.

Recently there have been some questions about what length of time people get forum banned for due to different offences. To clarify, on a first offence deemed bannable you will be banned for 24 hours, on a second offence deemed bannable you will be banned for 7 days and on a third offence deemed bannable you will be banned for 3 months.
If your behaviour is acceptable for a period of 3 months you will go back to having no bans against your name.
Further, for serious issues or serial offenders the moderator team will consider permanent forum bans or other sanctions at their discretion.
The goal is for everyone to be able to use the forums happily, without being abused by others or having to put up with other breaches in the forum rules.

To answer your question about the ghost spot, it has nothing to do with multi's, it is about stopping illegal drafting. By having a ghost spot, when the galaxy is basically full and you random in, say there is one spot open there are 6 possible families you could end up in. If there weren't ghost spots and family A wanted you then they would wait until the galaxy was full, kill someone, and illegally draft you in.
As for the second point with multi's, we attempt to link them back to a main account but aren't always succesful. There is a lot of investigation involved in proving that someone is multi-ing, and that the main account is the holder of the linked multi's. Where we can, we definately want to take action.
I don't like the idea of a forum posting the list of names of persons multi-ing purely because some of them are never lniked back to a main account, and in that circumstance how many names are we going to chuck in there that are meaningless?
