Yes, I'm proposing the censorship of individuals and material threatening to the liberty of individuals. I know that sounds like a contradiction, but it's sometimes a practical necessity. Although, I'm open to hearing alternative suggestions. Perhaps it would be wise to place additional restrictions on religious participation in politics? Maybe force Catholic institutions to separate from the Vatican?

But a totally appropriate example.

Germany outlaws parties sympathetic to Nazism, so the US should outlaw groups that promote social conservatism. The reason is that social conservatives unjustly infringe on the freedom of others, like Nazis.

We can also:

- Outlaw the KKK and all other racist groups and fascist groups.
- Outlaw the confederate flag, and arrest anyone carrying it.
- Outlaw all far-left crazy Marxists, and purge academia of them.

Yell,

Actually, since the Macedonian Empire. And in a weird way, you're right.

Bush took away our civil liberties. He also needs to stand trial in Europe for his war crimes.

It's never okay to drink. Abstinence only. But I don't mind if others want to drink, provided it's in moderation.

You are finally making some sense.

Yell,

1. Sanger's opinions on eugenics are irrelevant.
2. While it's plausible that Planned Parenthood performs more abortions on minority women, it's because minority women are generally poorer than white women. Poor women, regardless of race, are also more likely to have an unplanned pregnancy and require an abortion.
3. Planned Parenthood has sued AGs because they are nothing less than evil xian crusaders who will make up anything to end Planned Parenthood.

Yell,

Okay, I'm done trying to convince you that Obama isn't a communist. You apparently are so convinced he is, you won't even settle with calling him a Fascist.

WTF?

His effective annual tax rate is less than half of mine.

Yell,

You can say it's big government, but it's still not communism.

Genesis,

I only meant to say that Obama is corrupt, not that Liberal-Progressivism is corrupt. I also don't favor a pure free-market system, as there are market failures. As to your suggestion on how to reduce corruption, I think the following would help:

1. Eliminate the Patriot Act.
2. Increase transparency.
3. Lift unnecessary legal barriers to entry that possibly reduce competition.
4. Simplify the tax code and reduce the number of exemptions.
5. Review spending programs for their effectiveness and necessity for improving the equality of opportunity.

Yell,

The examples your cited are examples of regulation, not abolishing the private ownership of the means of production. You would be seeing the seizure of private businesses and their transformation in to state owned businesses if there was a communist trend.

Communism means that:

1. Private ownership of the means of production is abolished.
2. All production is decided by a collective (central bureaucrats).

Nowhere has Obama suggested he wants communism. Obama wants to raise taxes to pay for more public goods and reward his cronies, and increase regulations to improve consumer safety and protect the environment. It's corrupt and ignorant, but it's far from communism. If you want to insinuate that Obama is committed to an evil ideology, then call him a Fascist. At least an argument, although far fetched, could be made for that.

Prussia, the dominant state that unified Germany, simply had a tradition of authoritarianism and militarism. Before Germany's unification, Prussia was considered the Sparta of Europe. Combined with the Weimar Republic's failure to deliver, and a sense of lost martial virtue and national humiliation, a sort of Fascism was the logical counter revolution.

Obviously, Obama is trying to cause a short-term boost in the economy to improve his re-election campaign. Unfortunately, this proves that the Federal Reserve is no longer an independent agency.

Yell,

20% would be good. But the rate is more like 10%.

Kemp,

1. Meritocracy must replace seniority.
2. All pensions eliminated and benefits reduced.
3. Higher wages (~$75,000) base pay.
4. Higher educational requirements, such as a Master's degree.
5. Eliminate abusive parental influence in the politics of schools.
6. Enforce discipline and require school uniforms.

Bacchus,

Fair enough, my bad. That's nothing new though, the teacher's unions have always resisted measures to base the employment of teachers on merit. To the credit of teachers, they are restrained from teaching effectively because parents too often make it impossible to enforce school rules intended to create an environment conducive to learning (no distracting clothing or devices). It's so bad that we need to force all students to wear uniforms and slap any parents who complain.

Flint,

Honestly, some countries would be better off with an absolute monarchy, like Egypt and Libya. It's obvious representative government won't work well in those countries. I mean, the Egyptians elected the Muslim Brotherhood!

As for the Dutch, I will be generous and assume they are more civilized than Libya and Egypt. However, the political menu available to the Dutch, as described here, looks rather dreadful.

May I suggest the Dutch adopt an absolute monarchy? Your political system looks painfully divisive.

Well, I agree with paying teachers salaries that high, so we can attract better talent. So the pay isn't what disturbs me. What disturbs me is that they are unionized and have pensions.

All public pensions must be terminated immediately, except for those given to former police, fire and military.

Like I have been saying, the people in the Middle East are savages who shouldn't be allowed to govern themselves. And when they get out of line, then we ought to respond with blood.
