You're SO smart that you have this point to make about investment firms. You just don't know what that point is, because you know nothing about them. But damnit, you had a vague notion in your head, and you're super duper smart, so you should share it!

actually, it's this type of frontier research that lowers the cost of the parts for other enterprises wink

The parts were ordered on a schedule, are not off the shelf....

A decade wait for technologies to advance to reduce costs... or three decades... would not be to much to ask for curiousity.

No one has a theory to manipulate this stuff, where the Atom was clearly manipulatable but not easily.

Calling this fundemental is about innaccurrate as calling someones effort to see as many breasts in his lifetime as possible science. It is curiousity and nthing more. A curiosity worth more than twenty billion dollars.

YOOOOU leave the rowley gunnersmate out of this!!!!

also Einstein, you're making a logical error based on hindsight bias

fundamental sciences lead to practical advances down the road, but it's not always easy to predict how and when that will happen. If you say f*** fundamental sciences then sooner or later the practical sciences will run out the fuel that allows them to go forward. This is not rocket science you know.
