Tito arms tongue

Flint can "mistake" Obama for Osama and Gladiator can't complain about Palin's voice?

Priorities I guess yikes

See what I mean? hmm

Lol you guys go to great lenghts to contradict each others tongue

I seriously doubt Palin will get McCain any democrat votes, for the simple fact that the Bush administration pretty much made that impossible. His approval rate is what, 8% atm?

I also seriously doubt many republicans will vote Obama, he is black afterall.

So, all in all, I expect another tight race, which will be won by the party whose voters turn up the most at the polls.

It doesn't matter if McCain picked a woman or if Biden really is an asset to Obama. You guys have become too blind to see anything other than Republican or Democrat on the ballot. The candidates could be Putin and Osama that it wouldn't matter, you just look up Rep or Dem and make your mark. I guess politics has become another national sport.

It's sad really. Forgive me for quoting Obama, but he said that your nation's troops "have not served a Red America or a Blue America

Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder tongue

And I predict she will just kill Biden in the debate. Not in the facts (who cares about the facts anyway), but Biden is too old a fighter to be asked to behave. He will smile with condescendence at her, he will laugh facing the public at her supposed little knowledge, look as a father to a child. In brief, he will hurt the sensibility of a lot of undecided who see Sarah Palin as a courageous mother and efficient worker living her own american dream. And I do believe this will hurt the democrats way more than if she actually could top him on the issues.

Funny. You could replace Palin for Obama and Biden for McCain and you could just about say the exact same thing.

Don't start throwing the party yet, election isn't up until November tongue

I'll say that was one heck of a speech by Obama though. Didn't seem forced or fake, and he pretty much explained the principles of his politics, which is what he was accused of not doing. Now that the substance is there, McCain will have to debate Obama instead of slimply accusing and slandering him. And trust me, that won't be easy smile

wahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Obama doesn't have experience. Who the hell is she?!

Blatant try to pick up loose Hillary votes. Are you seriously still buying this Republican [hooya]? Please.

Well that's what happens pretty much all much over Europe and America nowadays. There is no pure left anymore. However I can't get myself to call this capitalism either. If anything we're in the face of elitism, a new form of government, from the outside (money owners) to the inside.

Damn Hillary is tough tongue

No it doesn't. That's like saying socialism works with a few private companies. Show me one capitalist state where no concessions need to be made to meet the demands of the many?

No pure doctrine can survive. If the majority of the poor population is unhappy you have to adopt a more socialist approach. If the big companies are sliding you have to push on the taxes and lean towards capitalism. It's all a cycle to keep everyone happy and keep the economy moving at the same time. If any of this fails, you get the proverbial revolution on your hands.

I don't think any system can accomodate morality. Humans are animals first of all, and therefore amoral. The moral values are imposed to you depending on the society you live in. Afghanistan's morals isn't the same as the USA's, but they are there because both countries, different as they may be, are built on social values.

Problem with capitalism is it favours the few over the many, and if unchecked it cannot hold the pressure of the many for long.

Hehe. This is why Capitalism can never work.

From an utterly economic standpoint, the life of one american citizen is probably worth the 100k thirld world people Justinian mentioned. However, the symbolic value is the same. One 1st world life = 1 third world life. As long as human beings continue to be just that, human beings, instead of robots, and act on symbolical and affective reasons instead of economical and rational ones, a system based on strict analysis can never work.

Unless you've been watching 1984 alot. But even then, it's based on repression, so the point stands.

I love you guys big_smile

Curious. With the near 4500 delegates assigned to attend the convention, that'd turn out to be worse than 9/11. You guys are great patriots big_smile

It started today, as you probably know... Michelle Obama's speech being highly antecipated, as well as the tribute to Sen. Ted Kennedy.

Day one should be pretty calm I suspect, with the high point being Mrs. Obama's speech.

Anything particular you guys looking for out of the Convention?
