Remember when IC had over 3 or 4 gals and about 2000 players. Those days are over. No one will save ic. Its nokia 3210 in a smartphone era.

This too!  While a strong community would help, that alone wouldn't be able to bring us back up to speed.  If the goal is for IC to stick around for years it'll require a complete overhaul with a focus on mobile game-play.

The point is that there is clearly IAs going on with people using whatsapp instead of irc anymore..time and time again this going on..people's greed towards end of round for planets and the win..honor left the game long time ago..mods don't care anymore..there only a few players left so why should they care..they get nothing for their time anyways..it's just sad the owners of the game don't do anything at all..I just play for fun now win or lose who cares anymore..I talk trash cause that's easiest way to get to someone..then I sit back and just watch..some players have the mods eating from their hands

Curious as to whose hand I get to eat from.

They didn't want a real war though, they want to win size.  I thought this was clarified already?

I've tried to explain the problem, but I don't think anyone heard.

You expect people to act "honorably".  But what we, as a community, have done is to change the word honor to mean an imaginary set of rules.  And then, when other players don't follow the imaginary set of rules, you get upset.

I can only speak for myself.  But I will not follow an imaginary set of rules.  It's not because I need to win.  It's because I don't believe a game can be run that way.

Write the rules down, and I'll agree to follow them.  Show me the rules.  As an example, where in the rules does it talk about farming, and where does it define farming as 15 %.   That rule doesn't exist.

Show me rules, and I'll follow them.

But when your talking about imaginary rules, then your just a cry baby.

The above attitude is a literal example of the biggest reason IC is in pieces, so I appreciate the example.

In it's prime IC was game governed by a community that operated under a set of honor principles that equated to "dude, don't be an asshole".  If you were a top family competing ftw and you farmed a defenseless family too hard, it was understood that every other family in contention would destroy you.  This wasn't an IA, there was no discussion, it just happened.  The gradual decline in the community required some moderator action, like implementing ingame NAPS (worst decision ever made for the game imo), removing the delete option to prevent illegal drafting, or the new morale system that was developed specifically because players in large families were farming new players to the point of deletion every round (which is great for player count btw).

IC grew as a community lead game.  Used to be you came into IRC or the forums and it was like Cheers.  Everyone knows everybody and if you were knew you received a warm welcome apart from the required trolling by ilu or TU.  Now it's like Mos Eisley, you walk in and just hope you walk out without getting stabbed in the back.

/end back in my day rant

Players don't realize that all this backstabbing and use of underhanded tactics has been a key player in the slow death of IC.  (Granted in this case players also don't realize that we're all not complete idiots? Equal savings...equal shares...it's like they think nobody in the galaxy keeps running visions or infils on top families)

Sure, it's a war game...fighting happens.  It's also an aging game that once had a tight knit community at its core holding everything together.  That's completely gone

your just a low life fam that wants to look like it won the round, when really you wont, and yeah the longer this goes on the more chance ill give up all my planets to 56

you already did that, and that's they only reason we are attacking you....

you had over 1400 planets when we canceled on you, and gave away 300 to 56 all over your core before our nap expired.. We only took 100 of you so far, and it was this easy cause you guys desided to only build agents and wizards instead of an army.

So don't come here and blame us for what happend!

With all the savings they had after after the last fight?  You canceled on them when you did specifically so that they wouldn't have the funds to build up the fleet needed to contend with you.  From everything I've heard about the situation focusing on ops was probably their best option.

You're fighting someone that, going into it, you knew wouldn't be able to fight back... You told them that you're only doing it to win size...  What other context would your statement be taken in?  Judging strictly by what he posted it doesn't look like you're going to farm them down to 100 planets at all, it just looks like you're going to farm them to the point that you can win size...which is what you're doing.  He doesn't want you to win size because if you do win size it will be because you did it dishonorably.

So what other context is there?

Only reason we are doing this is cause i really want to win size this round...

i really really dont want him to win size, so please step up rest of gal.

Lol, very funny.
You ask me to get a nap so i reply and i quote: I'll talk to the fam, the only reason we are doing this war is cause we wanted to win size this round.

You just pull it out of it's context and it looks like we are farming you to win size ranks, but that's not what it was about.

Also, we are only up just over 100 planets. You guys gave away more then 100 palnets to 56, if not we would have stopped long time ago.

"You ask me to get a nap so i reply and i quote: I'll talk to the fam, the only reason we are doing this war is cause we wanted to win size this round."

Not sure how out of context anything was taken, "we're doing this war to win size" is still "we're doing this war to win size"

2 month round We can do that!
Start SS There's no way to force someone to play SS.
Allie up to 3-5 players making your own alliance and basicly " family" We can do alliances!

Also add aid to allies during these rounds Currently impossible

Basically what Foohon said...sounds like you just want a 3-5 man family round where you choose your team & add functionality that we can't have.

that always happens scouty, but people really like to call the vulturing card.

from what i've seen there has not been extensive "dishounarable" behaviour this round. which is a good thing i'd say.
besides that nobody has complained about morale yet.

Last round i've seen the upside, the advantage it gives you as a small, or even single man, family.
This round i'm seeing the downside. But as far as i can tell it only prevents me from farming the smaller fams. and that is exactly what it is supposed to do.

The problem we ran into for a while, and still run into to some extent, is that an opportunistic veteran in a tiny family can terrorize big families.  My hope is that between adding the core systems which theoretically double the morale cost to target infra planets and families knowing that they need to be on the lookout for snipers in small families, this will be resolved.

And you ignore the first sentence hmm

So we need to define the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

The constitution says the people not soldiers.
The constitution says Rights of the People not the Rights of the militia.
The constitution says the peoples Right to keep and bear arms shell Not be INFRINGED.
There are no if,  and, but, only or any legal term or condition to the Rights of the People to keep and Bear Arms.  The forming of a militia is not a condition to the Rights of the People to keep and bear arms, but the main reason for it.
The liberals and progressive also keep leaving out the word INFRINGED.
The constitution is not only a legal document,  it is also the law.  The constitution was written to protect the people from our own government.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Which part was I ignoring?

But really for those that actually read any predictions by Flint...

If we're going that route, when the constitution was written we had just finished fighting a war with a fairly oppressive monarchy... the bulk of our forces being a militia.  At the time the possibility of needing the populace ready to fight again was very real, so they included in that amendment that citizens needed to be ready to form a militia again.

174

(40 replies, posted in Politics)

As long as people that own guns are in a well regulated militia, the constitution indeed states they have a right to them.
