Morale Overhaul
Ladies and gentlemen, prepare for one of the biggest changes since fleet readiness was introduced (since renamed morale). We listened to what we were told, the morale formula hasn't been working and the small player hasn't been adequately protected. As a result we've entirely scrapped the morale formula and started from scratch.
No longer will there be any 40% rule or any sort of family protecting. Instead the new enhanced morale formula is designed to make these attacks possible but extremely costly on morale. Not only will size influence morale loss, but relative family and player networth will be taken into account.
Due to the removal of the family protection rules the sentinel tag will no longer be required. The new morale formula is designed to allow for these attacks to protect your core, but at the same time you will rapidly run out of morale.
Special Operations Overhaul
Simultaneously we will be implementing a new mechanic for Special Operations. We're removing the ops limit. Instead, special operations will cost morale, similar to attacks.
The formula used will be similar to the new morale formula, and obviously as this is a brand new concept will be subject to changes as needed.
Summary
The old morale rules will no longer apply.
The old family protection rules will no longer apply.
The sentinel tag has been removed.
The new morale formula allows attacks on anyone as long as the attack will not result in a negative morale.
The new morale formula takes relative family nw and player nw into account.
Special Operations will now require morale instead of the arbitrary limit of 1 op regenerated per tick.

We have made this 4 weeks but if things look good we will lengthen it. This will be a testing round.

We will do this again for the chaos round. If you have already requested it you will find your empire is now gone and you can draft. Please contact a mod with your current family # and empire and the family that you want to draft into. We will check to make sure there are draft spots left.
Error at the bottom of Diplomacy page when signing a NAP is now fixed.
Starburst will be reset tomorrow for a short round to end along with Supernova. Due to some unforeseen things, the issues with morale will be updated the following round. However there will be a few minor changes this round that will be announced with the reset.
There will be 1 draft allowed in Starburst this round.
The DSs shouldn't accumulate like that and no one can delete and the round hasnt been running long enough for inactive script deletions. Waiting on a response about this.

Allies is broken. It used to be if you dropped allies you would auto get a pnap with each other and you could only change allies once. So many changes had to be made to it due to abuse or player requested I think it just imploded. Some of the things that happened were allies attacked allies. Some families would ally hop to attack a family due to good shares and then unally and ally another family with shares of a different family. Some allies did not get along so we allowed 1 ally change with pnap to prevent the ally bashing and the ally hopping.
We have done the families of 6 before and there were a lot of complaints because of inactives.
Stay in family is broken. With such a small player base it will create superfamilies.
I am just giving you the reasons of why some things are not being used and what happened with the small player families. I am not saying we can't try it again but that was the reason we have steered away from the 6 player family.
The extra family was added 20-Apr-2015, the round had already started Mar 27th. We don't add spots unless it is full.
Over a week of testing and having the code looked into with actual specifics to research, there were some strange things in the code and has it has been updated to what it was originally stated of how it works.
Abuse of this will be looked into by the mods.
Next round the 72 hours of when a family under the 40% networth that still can be attacked will be reduced to 24 hours.
Octarine costs added to the cost estimate for portals.
Maybe we should go back to the 1 draft then. That is the reason we went there in the first place.
Outgoing ops that will bring you out of networth rule protections are now visible in the family news.

This also included planting of nukes along with the triggering. So if you plant a nuke it will bring you out of NW protection.
List of offensive actions that will take you out of NW protection:
nuke failed, nuke warning, nuke trigger, units destroyed, scientists assassinated, sabotage portal warning, sabotage portal failed, hypnotize failed, force field failed, force field warning, food production rediced, electric storms, iron contaminated, hypnotize trigger, scientists killed, fight won, fight loss, octarine hurricane
This is the list so far but a few more will be added such as any attempt on an offensive op that if succeeded could cause damage. If in doubt, just don't do it.
Intra family attacks will no longer appear in the ticker.
