To clarify, Ias are not allowed this round.
even a honorable player will eventually go on the dark side if they get backstabbed like that in a round where he they did everything honorable and didn't deserved to be treated that way
So in theory, it would be ok for Orbit to go to the darkside after being backstabbed, but targetting a family lead by the most notorious player of the past 2 years isn't?
Where do we find the abridged version?

Orbit are u hiding again?
I believe orbit was that rogue in pp's fam on the hunt for guys from my fam last round lol
what happened to holding grudges being stupid hey orbit
I find it hard to imagine Orbit being that big of a hypocrite
I know he wasn't happy about us hitting them last round, but he really has been a consistently honorable player over the years. Why would he random into a galaxy 1 round removed from standing on his soap box and explaining to us how getting revenge on players isn't right as it can ruin the round for their innocent family members, and try to ruin the rounds of multiple players for revenge?
They correlate with your Solar Warrior tag!
To be fair for all a reset should have automatically apply.
This post is nothing but a waste of time, if some of the players have gain infra, resources etc, and some have lost, it would only be in the best interest of those who gained to vote for nothing, as well as the rest of their family to vote the same way.
While the few that have lost are still losing, in the long runIt should have been an automatic reset, with an explanation as to why the reset!
We have all seen the reason, so just reset
The game should be fair for all, with no extra gains because of the something that went wrong with the game to those who gained infra, ressie etcAny win from this point on would not really be a true win for you, with only 70 players (if all are active) in the game do you really need to win this way.
So some might get into a better family, And some might not with a reset, but atleast the game would be fair to all !
In the past an automatic reset would have been exactly what happened, but as this poll shows players now would rather just play through it. Feel free to look at the backlash from past resets.

I remember when the whole galaxy could see who was inactive in any family. They changed it so only leader but I agree that the family should see it not just leader.
Does it make sense? Sure!
Is it necessary? Nope!
After 48 to 72 hours the fam leader should be able to just designate which of the inactive's planets are handed-over to which family member, along with fleet, science points, etc.
The planets should get handed-over with defenses and infra (including portals).
If you wanted to have some fun with this, since you would be creating the code for this hand-over, why not create a new op with it?
Call it 'orchestrate coup'. It could only be successful on empires of players who have not logged in for more than 24 hours. Or maybe you could make it doable on active players too? Instigate coup would have to be a very difficult op, and maybe unique only to one of the races. If successful, it would allow the opper to have a certain percentage of the targets empire's planets (including a certain percentage of their fleet, science points, infra, resources, etc.) simply handed-over to them.
Suddenly, the opper could gain ported planets in enemy systems. For this reason, the op should be very difficult, and usually only work to get 1 or maybe 2 planets, but, potentially, if the opper's agents / nw ratio is very much in their favor and if the target empire has been inactive for a very long time, the opper could get a very significant number of planets, fleet, etc., maybe even as much as 30%. You could make the probability of success of the op and the percentage of planets, fleet, science points, etc. to be handed-over greater the longer the target player has not logged-in. So, if the fam does nothing about their distributing their inactive players' planets, fleet, etc. among themselves, another fam could get it.
You could also use a variation of this code to allow selling of planets, fleet, science points, etc, on market.
No
Guess the whole fam should see when someone is inactive for x days, not that they can delete them
but at least they will have the knowledge about it ?
A leader can say he's inactive but only he knows for sure
When it's displayed for everyone they all know whats the deal
I suppose I'm still of the opinion that if you as a family vote someone as leader, you should be willing to trust them
If you think your leader is marking people inactive that aren't inactive, than they shouldn't be your leader.
Magic!
Also to my knowledge the "post count" is a now irrelevant hold over from the old forum
Oh, I forgot to actually answer this question.
The only way to instantly attack a planet is to have a portal in that system. Logically to travel to a whole other system takes time. Unfortunately, our smallest unit of time is 1 "week", so that's how long it takes ![]()
Also I don't like you're idea

Leader is already flagged via the [last login] tab
Never knew the reason why only the leader gets the msg of inactivity, it should show up for everyone
Not particularly sure why this would be necessary. Especially since intra-fam attacks no by default cost 0 morale, so when the leader places the "Inactive" tag on someone, it will actually mean they're inactive.
blame the metric system
Are we not blaming Nolio anymore?

Pretty simple explanation...tag points are given for constructive forum posting. Answering questions, reporting bugs, creative ideas, etc.
Like it.
Except, how about everyone starts out in no family, essentially everyone is SS to begin. And there are only two families in the galaxy, and you can choose to join one or the other, but only if there is a slot open, and only if the fam wants you.
If there's a slot open, a player just sends a join request to fam leadership (fam leader and vice leaders can accept new members).
Slots open first for one fam and then the other, so that there is never more than 1 slot open to join either fam, and so that each fam only ever has a maximum of 1 player more than the other.
Say fam A has 20 players
, and fam B has 19 players
, fam B has a slot open and fam A doesn't. When a player joins fam B and both fams have 20 players, a slot opens for both fams.
It could get to the point where each fam has thousands of players. In such a case, inevitably, there would be factions developing within each fam, requiring team systems.
For now, though, we're probably going to have no more than what 50 players per fam?
If you did the two fam idea, they could be at constant war, you know, and the players who don't join fams can play SS or form their own neutrally-aligned fams through the alliance system. Just need to allowing trade between allies.
This is all like my factions idea from long a time ago.
If you did this, you could merge the galaxies. Wouldn't need Super Nova anymore.
As for the market, we should keep it. First, SS players who don't want to team up with anyone would need it. And, secondly, since there's a lot of money for fams to make by investing on market, even the fams might want to use it.
As for a barter system, you could incorporate it into the current market system. You could allow players to post and accept bids for any amount of any resource for any amount of any other resource, including GC.
The bids would show up in the galactic market pane as a list, whereby all the bids everyone in the galaxy has made are there for all to see. Sure, it might be a long list, but a player could sort the list of bids by resource type, resource amount, ratio (so they could see the best deal first), and who the seller is (because maybe they want to buy from a particular player, like an ally, or only those players who are part of their fam). A player would just have to click on a bid to accept it.
If you really want to do something cool, you could allow players to post bids not only for resources and GC but also for units, infra, and even planets.
Look, the factions idea from before - it's golden. People just have to realize it, and then send me the GOLD~! IC will get more ideas from me if you do.
Also, IC needs a mythology for players to follow along that explains the faction system, how game play events unfold, background to the races, epic players and their feats, etc.. Want me to write it? No problem. I'll charge Stephan $20 per word.
Or $10...?
Or profit shares?
Royalties?
Movie rights?
Cheeseburgers?
Look, it's negotiable...
You're plan is where I'd like to eventually see us go, I'm thinking of an option to give players a choice of who they work with within the game we have now (the only coding that would need to be done is a bypass of the intra-fam morale loss)
So I should be demodded for being in a family that played to a galaxy's theme?

Too many Lusters for there to be an Undeath in there
I like it too but i think some people will be bullied out of the game. New players who are easy targets and don't know anyone will not stand a chance.
or i'm to pessimistic about it... In general the concept sounds fun!
Keep in mind that the new morale system severely penalizes attacking people significantly smaller than you.
If people don't like the Chaos system we can definitely go back to the normal system where working with any family but your own in any way whatsoever results in a block for all parties involved.

Why do u keep calling it a chaos round when it wasn't

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare for one of the biggest changes since fleet readiness was introduced (since renamed morale). We listened to what we were told, the morale formula hasn't been working and the small player hasn't been adequately protected. As a result we've entirely scrapped the morale formula and started from scratch.
No longer will there be any 40% rule or any sort of family protecting. Instead the new enhanced morale formula is designed to make these attacks possible but extremely costly on morale. Not only will size influence morale loss, but relative family and player networth will be taken into account.
Due to the removal of the family protection rules the sentinel tag will no longer be required. The new morale formula is designed to allow for these attacks to protect your core, but at the same time you will rapidly run out of morale.
Special Operations Overhaul
Simultaneously we will be implementing a new mechanic for Special Operations. We're removing the ops limit. Instead, special operations will cost morale, similar to attacks.
The formula used will be similar to the new morale formula, and obviously as this is a brand new concept will be subject to changes as needed.
Summary
The old morale rules will no longer apply.
The old family protection rules will no longer apply.
The sentinel tag has been removed.
The new morale formula allows attacks on anyone as long as the attack will not result in a negative morale.
The new morale formula takes relative family nw and player nw into account.
Special Operations will now require morale instead of the arbitrary limit of 1 op regenerated per tick.
Warcry is temporarily disabled.
The new morale formula may be further altered after the round, depending on feedback. Thanks for your patience and good luck everyone.
We have made this 4 weeks but if things look good we will lengthen it. This will be a testing round.
~~Lemming of leather and lollipops~~Right, so what are we waiting for? Can we get this going? Any other feedback?
Also this will be another chaos/ IA allowed round for Starburst only. Enjoy!
Clever of you to ignore the post KT made within the hour of posting the reset announcement

I'll bank or rez
What if once morale planets are discovered, they're known to the entire galaxy? That way if you're unlucky (I know 01 found very few morale planets this round) you know where to target.
