Also, I totally put in a request to double check that nothing is wrong, but I doubt anyone will have a chance to check it out before Christmas.
My responses from work tend to be riddled with sarcasm, but I really do think these are just fluke instances tongue

1.  I know how nukes work
2.  I know how probability works
3.  I had nukes successfully cast on my main buildings just last round

Maybe Bud is magic?

Since the formula is a simple probability algorithm, the closer your number attempts gets to infinity the closer the true 1/9 chance will show up.  So keep on plugging?

With the new morale for ops system, nukes are primarily used to troll people once your family is out of the running.

No one is saying you should choose what building to nuke? What we are saying is for all we know it could be that it is impossible to hit a players main built buildings. Hence a bug.

It should be tested if nothing else I think.

I lost 40% of my main buildings last round to nukes... so I know it's not impossible to hit a player's main built buildings.  I also know that the # of buildings a player has doesn't in any way contribute to the nuke formula

Again, I'm not saying that taking another look at nukes is necessarily a bad idea, it's just a convo I've had multiple times as mod, fmod, and player and what it tends to come down to is if you allow players the ability to select what building a nuke will hit, you have to increase the difficulty of the op to the point that it's almost impossible to cast to keep it balanced.  So throw some ideas out there.

What happened here is just unlikely, it's not a bug tongue

If it had done something wacky, like only hit research centers 29 times, it would be worth looking at.  Assuming of course that you sorted that list alphabetically Bud...if that's the order that the nukes took place then it might be worth looking into.

Otherwise it's like being mad at a coin for landing on heads 5x in a row.

Each nuke had an 11% chance to hit cfs

I have 250k agents and 280k CFs so no reason he shouldn't have hit my CFS. Hit research tos etc... Just never CFS

Doesn't matter if you have 0 cfs or 10,000,000....each nuke still has an 11% chance of hitting them.

There's no set # of agents you need to successfully cast an op, and there never has been.  Random fails, regardless of whether or not they make any sense, have always been a thing.

Now, nukes in themselves are less than reliable... specifically if your goal is to hit a single building (you mentioned cash factories) as they randomly target any of the possible 9 buildings giving you a roughly 11% chance of hitting the one you want.  Let's be super generous, and say you had enough agents to land 90% of the nukes you cast,  that gives each nuke a 9.9% chance of hitting cash factories.

There's no bug here, although it could be argued that nukes need to be reworked.  The only thing about this thread that sums up the current state of the game is the attitude some of our veteran players have smile

I just happened to peek at the fourms after many years of not playing this game and this thread caught my attention.  The reason why i stopped playing is because everyone is forcing a fam bank these days and I basically become a robot that listens to everything the leader (or person in charge of bank) tells me to.  Im told exactly what to build and given an exact amount of resources.  Honestly, why would I bother play a game when it is basically being played for me.

I liked the game when people would split into teams and work together.  If I am forced to be a fam bank robot, id rather play SS or not play at all.

All it takes is one family dedicated to using teams, and doing it successfully, to turn around the current mind set.

Actually, this just means that any aggressive families would need to start being aggressive earlier, and preventing possible targets from filling systems.

Always glad to see the positive attitudes in here smile

Good News Everyone!

In addition, a new feature has been added and will be tested this round.  When a family controls a system for 72 ticks, that system will be flagged as a core system.  When a non-family member attacks a core system, the attack will cost twice as much morale.
A system will lose its core status when the family with the core controls no planets in that system.

Good News Everyone!

Last round we attempted to set up a core system to relieve large families from being bombarded by their smaller counterparts. Early in  the round, we realized there was an issue and it was not implemented.  The problem appears to have been fixed, so here it is:

I can't blame you then. Your leader is pretty terrible from the limited communication I've had with him.

Leader is Colorado.  From what I understand, his plan was to stop the "conflict" with you guys days ago and have an eor war with 19, and allegedly he had a ceasefire in place, but apparently that memo never went out to the attackers & oppers in either 23 or 20...  so here we are.

Yay communication!

sorry Snowy-san, but this game is being played by humans, they dont always get along... rogues have been in IC for a very long time and taking away their morale cost just gives them more power... Nightwish has a lot of friends in IC and whatever happened is ver unfortunate for him

what happened anyway? i joined the round late tongue

The 27 million from 23 was after Colorado had talked to your leader and we were allegedly ending the fighting tongue
