Damn, it's catching tongue

yehyeah i know, its a luxury problem ... but having to select hundreds of planets every couple ticks to build more gets pretty tedious too tongue and well, there IS a tool for it, so i can point out it's limited in scope, cant i? tongue

didnt try to estimate where things go wrong, but in the high 900 planets, and certainly when going over 1k planets (since it only shows 'building on 999 planets'), the mass ob thingy simply doesnt build. Too much strain on the server? Bug? anyways, not funny, when you finally NEED the damn thing to get anything done, it stops working sad

15 days to go. A little PvC, as seen with a top view.

1 Galactic Events (6267) [45,22]  1014 5116796 23867

Noir, Gard, TCO
Certain things are simply unavoidable. Even in a hardcore galaxy, with the Galactic Events disabled, Galactic Events will eventually screw you over. You know it will happen, the question is just when. This was your ultimate chance to give those Tokaasi whatfor for stealing all those agents in the past, your chance to battle that magical disease, yes, your chance to finally stick it to those lazy traders on strike. You didnt. It'll come back to bite you in the lower back.

2 The Three Stooges (6268) [25,59]  621 2511189 14983

Ocho, Snailsex, Ekoe
These guys are doing surprisingly well ! They used a combination of good eco, sound strategy, diplomacy and the tendency of other fams to underestimate them, and turned it into a commanding 2nd place. Their only weak spot seems to be internal communication, but for now experience at this game has compensated for that. The question now remains : will they keep doing this well now that others will stop underestimating them?

3 WE BE EVIL~~ (6270) [40,59]  566 2146543 14460

Aname, Semizzle, Jarik
With a good p-count and acceptable NW, these boys are still in the game. Their main challenge lies in upgrading their below-average economy (compared to other top fams) while not falling behind in the race for planets. Will they pull off this precarious balancing act, or trip all over themselves and become a tempting target?

4 USS VOYAGER (6273) [9,60]  374 2725281 13812

WiWi, Gollum, TBO
They are quite behind on the p-count, but giving WiWi that big fleet might just have been the thing to do here. At least he knows how to use it. I'm expecting to see their planet count jump us fast in the upcoming days, but is it too little, too late, or can they step up to the plate and play with the big boys? Would have been doing a lot better if TBO had been a tenth as good as he thinks he is, though. tongue
Contenders for survival. Pretenders, mostly TBO tongue

5 the Elements (6271) [20,20]  298 1790539 13611

Paperclip, DaDevil, Humidity
These guys took a spot in the middle of the rankings, mixed in some survival skills, and kept on climbing the ranks by virtue of the fams above them dying. They should really step up their game if they dont want to become food for someone else. One has to wonder if they do have what it takes to go on the initiative themselves though.

6 Threesome is great!!! (6272) [54,37]  348 1577864 11976

Dixie, shaw115, MCFC
I had personally expected more from these guys. Yeah sure, they actually do have a decent planet count, but probably the worst nw-to-planet ratio of the fams that still matter. Pick up the slack in the eco department guys, coz you are fat fat fat !  And that spells target target target !

7 Close enough (6278) [52,57]  236 1391139 10515

Rchie,Shunshine,fast
Actually, no, not close enough. Not by far. Their resourcer is allready taking a holiday in the sun, and their attacker does not seem to be up to the task of keeping them safe. Expect their planets to be in someone else's hands soon.

8 The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! (6284) [8,43]  216 1023736 10509

Wornstrum, Poley, Barf Zeeblebrix
An honorary mention for 2 F-mods and a mod actually still surviving in a hardcore galaxy. They surprised everyone and their hamster by actually being active and doing things the right way. Well, within acceptable limits of course, exaggeration might get them a slap on the wrist from the mods union, obviously. Right now fending off 2 fams who made the mistake of thinking they would be easy pickings. It'll eventually get them killed, but they're putting up a good fight, and are actually restoring some of the lost faith in mods playing the game. Well done !

9 Team 22 ^_^ (6279) [40,49]  301 1491274 9617

Alundra, Songaila, Sunstorm
Probably the sexiest team still in the running (mostly thanks to James, obviously ... NOT tongue), they are actually the proverbial fox in the henhouse. While their economy is neither good nor bad, and their offensive power nothing to be scared of, they have a tendency to overdo it in the ops department, which can cripple even the biggest fams. This has assured them of survival thus far, but will it last now that some economies are getting so much stronger that op-defenses are becoming ever easier to acquire? Also a big congratulations on actually keeping James active, that in itself is allready a victory tongue

Everyone else : dead, but still waiting on the coroner to declare them that. Special mention for Insane (75) for still being alive and actually doing a great job against the now non-existent 83.

heh Purin, dont worry - your name is in the final list, together with all the usual suspects, so you're making a name for yourself. Now to make a more lasting impression, and you'll be in this list regularly smile And in the end it doesnt matter what they say about you, as long as they talk about you big_smile

Nope, we drafted you coz you were the only player left in IC that i hadnt played with and really DID want to play with at least once smile Keep in mind though that the silly swede and me have been playing together for over 8.5 years now, every other person to join us would kinda feel like an outsider. That said, your input has been invaluable to me, as i actually learned a thing or two, as i hoped and expected to. And of course, it's a nice change not to have to spell out every little detail but actually be able to trust that everyone on the team knows what he's doing.

Though i had allready told kollop that 'there were other options', i had not yet mentioned the nap thing when he left chat. Then i got this :

Week 47, 20Reply Save
would you guys be willing to pay us some planets for a pnap?
Signed, Shazam of Large Trout (#6204)

So, yeah, 04 was first in proposing a remaking of the nap. Not that i minded at all, to be honest smile And of course i deserve diplomat of the round award, duh, we were outsaved and wouldve had no attackers online at start of the war, and gave them enough to think about so they would come with this proposal. Get your votes in ladies and gents big_smile

Its not a loophole. You made a mistake, now own up and live with it. The nap in relations was only there to reinforce the nap both you and me signed. You did not comply with nap cancellation terms, so nap is still in effect. It's not even like we're trying to get out from under it, we're just moving the war to a time more fitting to us. Small price to pay for making a mistake i'd think.

And as a fam with 3 mods, you should know that 'assuming' is never a good thing. If a player breaks a rule because he hasnt read the rules and 'assumes' he was doing nothing wrong, it's still breaking the rules, since you're supposed to read the rules. If you sign a nap, and want to cancel it, you're supposed to read it, which you failed to do. Assuming you cancelled a nap doesnt make it so.
